Eyes Are For Life, So Keep Yours Safe - Stylish Sunglasses for Under £5000

Hi, Annabel Fox here once again and this time I want to talk about the importance of using protection, especially in the summer. That's eye protection, of course and what that means is that we're talking sunglasses, or shades, if you're a rock star, but only a male one. And that's the first thing to remember, girls - ladies don't wear "shades". Did Audrey Hepburn wear "shades" in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? I don't think so! She wore Oliver Goldsmith's "Manhattan" sunglasses. Say it out loud now: Sun. Glasses. She wore sunglasses. Now, Lou Reed wore shades, and rightly so. I met Lou once, at a launch party for, I don't know, the Kepler Space Telescope or something but, anyway, that's a story for another time. Nice guy though. Seemed distracted. Said he was waiting for his man. No idea what he meant.

Anyway, if you're looking for eyewear that'll really get you noticed on your yacht in St.Tropez, you could always blow $400K on a pair of Chopard de Rigo Vision sunglasses but, frankly, I wouldn't. I mean just look at them! 24 carat Gold? Present! Full-cut River Diamonds? Present! Class? Absent. Totally absent. I mean, who do they think is going to wear these things? Paris Hilton? Which tells you everything you need to know about them. Well, it does if you remember who she is. Or possibly was.

Now, I was going to review the 5 classiest and most tasteful sunglasses that can be found for under £5k yet are still stocked by the more discerning retailers, but I'm afraid my bubble bath is ready and I really can't duck out of this strict training regime for my TV work. So, just to cut to the chase, I'd go for the Manhattan's. In classic black, it goes without saying. If it's good enough for Audrey, it's good enough for the rest of us. You could even wear them to watch a total solar eclipse! You'd probably go blind, of course, but you'd look simply fabulous doing so!
